About Department of English Language

The English Department at the Faculty of Education in Tripoli is considered to be one of the most important departments due to its close ties to the requirements of the modern era and its ability to graduate students who can interact with all that is new. The department works on:

  • Preparing qualified and distinguished English teachers for all levels of basic and secondary education to carry out the educational and educational mission using modern technology.
  • Preparing high scientific competencies in the linguistic, applied, and literary fields.
  • Providing the necessary training programs to acquire the learner's listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through courses that are regularly updated with an emphasis on using different technologies.
  • Studying the English language in an integrated way that includes phonetics, word derivation, linguistic structures, semantics, translation, and literature. It also includes the study of language acquisition theories, research, and applications in learning English as a foreign language.
  • Developing the student's creativity, critical thinking, and collective and self-assessment, as well as training the student on preparing research and reports on language teaching.

Who works at the Department of English Language

Department of English Language has more than 31 academic staff members

Ms. Yousra Ali Moftah Alghanemi

Yousra Alghanemi is one of the staff members of the English Department /Faculty of Education -Tripoli. She has started her job on September 1st , 2010. She has been lecturing in her major - theoretical linguistics- including phonetics, morphology and syntax. In addition, she has been teaching assessment and evaluation , strategies of teaching English as a foreign language and supervising trainee teachers in their teaching practice program. She has a number of publications that concerned teacher self-evaluation, teaching English in public schools and validity of the English examinations in public schools.
